The Bunbury Bridge Club is offering a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn how to play the most strategic card game in the world Contract Bridge. Suitable persons would be those with an interest in maths, perhaps those who tend to hang out in the library rather than play sports. Bridge is particularly suited to people who have a natural talent for logic that find discipline and structure to their liking.

This is a 12-hour beginners' course run over 6 x 2hour lessons targeted for school aged teenagers and pre-teens. The lessons will be run by Esther Saunders who is a qualified Bridge Teacher and classroom teacher currently registered with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).

This course normally costs $200/person but will be FREE for those who qualify. To qualify for the FREE course, you must meet both criteria below:

1) Must be a resident of Bunbury or the Greater Bunbury area (must be able to provide proof of residence).

2) Must be less than 25 years of age.

A FREE pizza lunch will be included for qualified youth attendees.

A workbook will be available for purchase at a cost of $30.

Lessons will be over 6 separate days from 11-1:30pm each day.

This course requires a minimum of 4 beginners for the event to go ahead.

Adults are welcome to register ^Ts&Cs apply: ^If adults registers with a qualified youth, they will get a 50% discount on the cost of the course - normally $200/person, only pay $100 if learning with a qualified youth. ^If adults register without a qualified youth, the course will cost $400/partnership and they MUST bring a partner.

GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING LESSONS 1) The Bunbury Bridge Club accredited teachers are Esther & Colin Saunders (Esther: 0400 343 460, Colin: 0429 179 404). As the Bunbury Bridge Youth Coordinator, please direct any queries regarding Youth Bridge in Bunbury to Esther. 2) The "Beginners Course" is usually held in February/March each year and run for approximately 8-10 separate 2 hour sessions.

COMPLETING A SYSTEM CARD To download the latest ABF convention card, go to the ABF website (www.abf.com.au) and navigate to MEMBERS > SYSTEM CARDS. Then click on "ABF Convention Card PDF" and "Download the ABF Convention Card PDF Form and Usage Guide". A link to the ABF website is located on the Contact page of this website. For instructions on how to complete the convention card, refer to the document called "How to complete an ABF Convention Card" located on the Documents page in the "Education" section.
